A Brief Introduction To Medical Missions, Inc.
Medical
Missions, Inc. is a 501-C3 non-profit charity. It was organized
in February of 1992 to build mission hospitals, churches,
schools and vocational training centers in developing countries.
The corporate office and warehouses are located in Columbia,
SC.
It
is the policy of Medical Missions to only build in areas where
the projects can be self-sustaining. Our approach to missions
is holistic, addressing the medical, spiritual, vocational
and educational needs of people who live in very remote and
impoverished areas of the world. Dr.
Francis Burriss is founder and president of Medical Missions,
Inc. Before entering the ministry, he owned and operated
several successful businesses for 9 years. Feeling a strong
call to the ministry, he attended Columbia Theological Seminary
in Decatur, Georgia and earned a doctorate of ministry in
1983. After serving in the parish ministry for 8 years,
he founded Medical Missions in 1992. Dr. Burriss combines
his ministry skills with his real estate development experience
and approaches all mission projects in a businesslike and
pragmatic manner. His heart for missions and his ability
to organize trips that are productive, exciting and educational
has made it possible for a diverse group of people to have
life changing mission experiences.
MacKenzie Fraser-Bub coordinates Medical Missions projects in all mission sites. MacKenzie has a BA in Political Science and Studio Arts from Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia. |
